Physiotherapy Clinic Downtown Toronto FAQs

Physiotherapy is a healthcare profession that helps people restore, maintain, and maximize their strength, function, movement, and overall well-being through physical rehabilitation, injury prevention, and health and fitness.

You should consider seeing a physiotherapist if you are experiencing pain, injury, limited mobility, or want to improve your physical performance. Physiotherapists can also help manage chronic conditions and provide advice on injury prevention.

You do not need a referral from a doctor to see a physiotherapist. However, some insurance plans may require a doctor’s referral for reimbursement. It’s best to check with your insurance provider for specific details. Additionally, some conditions may require that we coordinate care with your physician. We will work together with you towards the plan of care that meets your individual needs.

During your first session, the physiotherapist will assess your condition, discuss your symptoms, and create a personalized treatment plan. The assessment may include a physical examination, and you may be asked to perform certain movements or exercises.

The number of physiotherapy sessions required depends on your condition and goals. Your physiotherapist will discuss this with you and provide an estimated timeline for your treatment.

Yes, your physiotherapist may provide you with exercises to do at home to help speed up your recovery and improve your physical condition.
