A graduate of the University of Toronto in Human Biology, Sharon completed her Bachelor of Science in Physical Therapy at the University of Toronto. She went on to pursue further graduate work, completing her Master of Science from the Rehabilitation Sciences Institute and a PhD from the Institute of Medical Science both from the University of Toronto.

Her interest in Physiotherapy originated while pursuing her first undergraduate degree while struggling with postural challenges and seeking physiotherapy treatment. Her interest in medicine, working with people, and developing and adhering to therapeutic plans inspired her to pursue a career in Physiotherapy. Her interest in research, orthopaedics, neurology, therapeutic agents and pressure injuries (bed sores) lead her to pursue graduate work.

Sharon emphasizes a holistic approach to rehabilitation. Her experience of raising a son with a disability has continued to inform her career that has spanned over 25 years. She is able to appreciate the rehabilitation process not only from the professional perspective, but from the client perspective. Her extensive knowledge of biomechanics, orthopaedics, exercise prescription, electrophysical agents with a strong background in research enables her to provide evidence based treatment when designing and implementing rehabilitation plans. With a special interest in patient and family engagement through her volunteer work, Sharon is able to ensure that treatment that is provided takes into consideration the unique challenges that individuals may experience when adhering to treatment recommendations in their busy lives.

Alanna graduated from the University of Toronto with a Masters of Science in Physical Therapy after completing her Bachelor of Arts with Honours in Kinesiology at the University of Western Ontario.

Growing up, she was involved in sports from a young age and realized it was important to take care of your body. As part of her undergraduate degree, Alanna worked as the Student Trainer for University of Western Ontario’s Varsity Women’s Field Hockey Team, allowing her to gain experience working with high level athletes and a multitude of injuries. Alanna gained a deep appreciation for the profession through the rigorous and methodical treatments that were applied by the sports medicine team including physiotherapists, and ultimately was determined to help others gain the benefit of similar treatments.

Alanna’s treatment approach is focused on creating individualized programs which incorporate client specific goals. Alanna’s primary tools include manual therapy, exercise prescription, acupuncture, as well as education to build the most effective program for each patient.

Alanna is passionate about continued education and has completed courses in basic sport taping, soft tissue release, acupuncture, Temporomandibular Joint Dysfunction and has obtained her Level 1 Certification in Manual Therapy from the Orthopaedic Division of the Canadian Physiotherapy Association. Alanna has also completed her certification to treat concussion and post-concussion syndrome, dizziness, and benign paroxysmal positional vertigo. Alanna is excited to implement the best treatment plans for all of her clients to help each individual regain skills and mobility they had pre-injury from recreational physical activity to highly competitive sport.

Kaitlin graduated from the University of Toronto with a Master of Science in Physical Therapy after graduating from McMaster University with an Honours Bachelor of Science in Biology with a specialization in Physiology.

Kaitlin always knew she wanted to work in healthcare. From a young age she was interested in how the body works and looked forward to learning about it in school. During her undergrad, Kaitlin discovered her passion for fitness as she started strength training at the gym, and from there she quickly determined physiotherapy would be a great field for her. Throughout the physiotherapy program, she had clinical placements in hospital, rehab, and private practice settings which provided her with a multitude of skills necessary to treat the person as a whole. 

Kaitlin’s treatment approach includes a combination of hands-on manual therapy, personalized exercises, and education to ensure each of her clients reach their specific goals and get back to the quality of life they want. Kaitlin is excited to help her client find the root cause of their problem so they can live their best lives.

Emma is a graduate of the University of Toronto MScPT and BKin programs. 

During her physiotherapy education, Emma experienced caring for individuals with a variety of conditions including orthopaedic, cardiology, pain and neuroscience. 

Emma is passionate for incorporating the whole-person in her approach. During her undergraduate degree, Emma completed a research project in the field of adapted physical activity. Her passion for inclusivity and inclusion for people of all abilities has maintained throughout her graduate degree and continued professional interests.

In her undergraduate and graduate studies, Emma was a varsity athlete and understands the importance of maintaining health and wellbeing as an active individual. In those recovering from an activity-related injury or condition, Emma strives to incorporate her background in sport in her approach to optimize the whole-person care and recovery journey.

In her spare time, Emma enjoys playing piano, cooking and photography. Her current favourite physical activities are swimming, cycling and skating.

Edun is an Osteopathic Manual Practitioner and proud member of the Ontario Osteopathic Association. He is a graduate of the Canadian Academy of Osteopathy (CAO) where he received over 1000 hours of practical application while studying principles-based Osteopathy. He spent many years fascinated by the human body and human mechanics while studying kinesiology at Wilfrid Laurier University.

 

Edun found Osteopathy as he was a patient in need. He was captivated by Osteopathy the moment he received my first treatment and never looked back. He now spends his time helping others in the same way that he was helped.

 

Osteopathy is a principles based manual therapy that aids in facilitating the self -healing processes that already exist within the body. Osteopathy is soft, gentle and rhythmical. Vincent Ku completed his undergraduate studies at The University of Waterloo in Engineering with a specialty in Biomechanics.  It was here where he studied fundamental concepts and processes of orthopaedic bioengineering including biomaterials, joint tribology, prosthesis design and joint replacement implants.  Recognizing his interests in biomechanics he then completed his graduate studies in Podiatric Medicine at The Michener Institute. His previous experiences include rotations at St.Michael’s Wound Clinic, Toronto General Hyperbarics, Women’s College Hospital, Toronto Rehabilitation Institute and Erin Mills Podiatry. He is registered with the College of Chiropodists of Ontario with prescribing rights and surgical training. He is a caring and compassionate practitioner that has a deep interest in his patients’ well-being and strives to help patients function at their highest potential.  He has a passion for delivering podiatric medical care to patients that emphasizes health education and preventative treatments.
